Bite.

Words won't convey the anger, hurt, and fuming my heart found when I picked up Laney from daycare yesterday. Check out the bite marks by her eye. Livid.
She got bit by a another child that has an aggressive personality and has bitten multiple children. Obviously it's a problem. I can get past the biting, although I don't like it, children bite. But the daycare hasn't moved her out of the class or isolated the child enough to prevent the situation from happening again, clearly. I am just sick over having to leave Laney and exploring other options. What a bully.

Sleeping baby. Momma is not happy.

A few firsts....

First time to make lasagna, ever. It was delicious and worth the time it took! I am not a cooking Mom usually because of the lack of energy and time. First time to see Daddy in four days. This was the longest stint of time thus far but a sweet reunion. First family pic in a week. Nice one. First time to Amy's Ice Cream. Do you see where this is going?First bite of ice cream. It was Amy's and we couldn't help ourselves. She absolutely loved it and I can't wait to feed her terrible all the time. Not really but we splurge so she should get to on occasion also! First bite from Momma. First time to Barton Springs. Do you see Matthew's patch? We were at the ER on Saturday morning at 7:30 am for his left eye. Don't sleep in contact's is the moral of the story. First time in Barton Springs! Brrrrr! And first time for me to get back in a suit! First time for us to use the Family Fun Center at home. Laney is a little fish!

This weekend was filled with a few firsts! My favorite is taking Laney to the pool and watching her love the water! Yippee for summer~

Eight and Great!

Eight months and Laney Kate is great! With the exception that she has been sick with bronchiolitis? I figure about once a month she gets something. And I, absolutely 100% blame the petri dish known as daycare. Shocking then that Laney catches "whatever" the common ailment of the day is. I can't complain though, she is happily still into everything and perfect as ever.
My absolute favorite thing at this stage is Laney's dancing. She bobbles and moves in her own unique fashion. In fact, when I say "Laney let's dance, dance Laney!" she gets excited and starts laughing then quickly gets grooving. It is simply precious. The pictures don't quite capture it but if you can imagine slow motion......lean back, lean back....

Here are some pictures we took at home today to celebrate her eight months of life. How precious and innocent babies are. I still can't believe she totally depends on me with such faith and trust. What a gift this baby girl is.
I love it that she cracks herself up. We just sit and laugh and it is the best entertainment. There is nothing sweeter to my ears than her little cackle.

She thinks if she just leans forward it will move, she hasn't figured out the foot part, yet.One hand trying for her pocket? Maybe? That might be pushing it but she is learning new things every day.

Many glimpses of Laney at eight months. This I know, I have a silly, fun loving, and vivacious little girl on my hands.

More pictures from the weekend to come soon, we had several firsts!

Laney's Baptism

This past weekend was spent in the hill country with the Crowell's and the Berg's (two of them). Lesley hadn't seen Laney in over a month and she, well, Laney is hers when she is around. She finally got to see her crawl and pull up. It was a special weekend at the ranch for all of us. And dinner Friday night was hysterical!

We had Laney baptized on Sunday morning. This was us dedicating our baby girl to the Lord and promising to raise her in a Christian home. Us going into church....

Laney absolutely loved watching the water being poured but she did not like having it on her head! She thought it was bath time I think. Please don't judge me for not having the shoes on her. The sandals she had on were what got us through the church service to the baptism and kept her sort of distracted--she chewed on them.

Moments later Laney reached for the flame and Matthew and I both knee jerked to her hand! I love this picture of me and my baby girl.

We had a lunch in Llano at the Marktplatz in the middle of town. It was a beautiful day, the food we catered was wonderful, and the Sprinkles cupcakes were awesome! The only thing missing was a kite! Laney was really happy and lunged for the jogging stroller when we brought it out. She loves that thing! I am so glad for that! The Berg Girls.....

And Lindsay and Steven made the trip to Llano and then Fredericksburg. It was wonderful to see my preschool friend! Laney was worn out by the end of it. This is her Harrod's dress from London that my Momma got her! It is my favorite dress from Laney's collection!

The Crowell Family....

We miss you Daddy! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger! And someday soon it will be worth it.

102.1 Seriously?

Laney has had a fever the past few days from a diagnosed sore throat. Still, she loves her tongue and giggling. But those cheeks are pink pink pink! My "sick" child. I don't get it. They must be a tougher breed than us adults.
Can you tell she really wanted the camera....
