Siclovia

This past Sunday we enjoyed Siclovia for the first time and what a beautiful day it was. Broadway, a major road here in SA, was shut down for two miles for fellow San Antonions to enjoy the outdoors and get moving! Apparently around 40,000 people were out walking, running, riding bikes, and playing in the street. We don't own bikes but after Christmas this year we hope to! What a wonderful event this truly was. I'm so glad we were able to participate and have this family time.

We took Laney's bicycle and Landry's tricycle and had fun in the March sun!

As we pushed the girls, and helped them along, Matthew and I kept trying to race them. It was hysterical and a workout! The girls thought it was fun too and kept chanting "faster, faster" and I can't see why the Crowell girls would end up competitive!

Snow in SA

Snow in San Antonio. I didn’t know if I’d ever see it! Some of the locals say the last “great” snow was in 1985. It’s hard to imagine a place without it but we seemed to have settled far enough south to rarely experience the sheet of white. I’ll take it every once in a while though.
I woke up around 3:00 am on Friday, February 4th to check on the weather. I was supposed to go to Austin but knew with this site that I would be staying home.  I like the eery look with the pink sky. And I love the nights at 3 am when Matthew and I wake up together, it's so fun! It's like being a little kid again in a way, knowing you should be asleep but are ecstatic to be awake.
This was Landry’s “first” time to see snow and it was fun to go out in it for a few chilly moments. Laney was busy trying to eat the snow, Landry was probably freezing, and I was hoping that there was enough to play in.

We may not get to see snow again in this house, I'm not certain. But it was a wonderful memory just the same.
