Is it a strange feeling to everyone to have your parents come visit you in your home, married? For me, it was the realization that I will never be a kid again. A different, yet a wonderful, feeling being host to your own parents. Still, they took me shopping,to the grocery store, and dinner just as always. But now I get to play house and clean up after them!
Dinner was most impressive Saturday night. It's an oddity to drive out in the boondocks and somehow sneak upon a restaurant being so close to I-35. The German restaurant in Walburg, TX just seemed to come out of the woodworks. Matthew knows how much my Dad loves the German culture and suggested the place. With the arcade games, local band, chicken dance, and smorgasboard of German food, we could not have had a more memorable first visit with my parents in Austin! Matthew gloated knowing he is the best son in law ever for suggesting the place to Dad! We cracked up with Landon and his gf while taking a trip down memory lane and playing Street Fighter, PacMan, and Catchphrase. This past weekend truly allowed all of us to be kids again.....
