Huggies, Cake, Onesies, Blue and the Draft

We had quite an eventful weekend and, unfortunately, I don't have many pictures to show for it. But we did get to see Molly and Peter on Friday night. I started coming down with pink eye I thought and it really didn't turn up full throttle until this past Sunday. Now my eyes are pretty pink :).

Anyway, we went to Houston for Matthew to do the baseball draft and luckily I got to see Kristen and Liz. I missed seeing Andrea Friday from my eyes and the little man was sick. Me sad. But the draft was planned for 1:00 on Saturday afternoon and wasn't attempted until 1 am Saturday night after we all went to watch Coby's band play. Of course, I was in bed by 1:00.

The best part of the weekend was telling his friends we were pregnant. It was really funny how it all played out because we didnt' know how we'd tell them. And really didn't have to because somehow it got brought up. Matthew was talking about where we'd live one day and Sarah, Coby's wife, asked"Why? Are yal thinking about having kids?". Of course, I break out in the hives and Matthew is just grinning and answered "Someday". Then David Poole went on to ask "Is Laura drinking tonight?". Kristen answered for me "No" and I just grabbed her water so I wouldn't have to answer hoping Matthew would say something. Everyone all of the sudden realized the news and jumped up hugging us and giving congratulations. Lee (she knew from us seeing her last weekend) made us a cake and got Baby C this yellow "precious" little onesies and a bath blanket. Here is a picture of Lee and her husband Chris with their new addition "Blue". We had so much fun with a puppy around this weekend and can you guess why his name is Blue?

David went to buy us huggies and it was a classic moment seeing one of the guys walking up with two bags of Huggies. I haven't even approached that area in the baby section so I was impressed. The best part of the weekend was all of Matthew's friends kept holding and touching my belly. Not the girls but the guys and it was hilarious to see boys acting like that. I loved it!

This is such an exciting time and, although, I am not one of the people who is great at being pregnant, I love knowing that there is life inside of me. And it is so great seeing people's expressions when we first tell them the news. It is a feeling I think I will miss so I try to enjoy the many changes my body has gone, and will go, through for the months to come. And I'm thankful for this precious little blessing.
