Tip Tap & The Shivary

I felt the baby Monday! For the first time it was distinguishably a foreign movement below the belly button. It was not a flutter for me. It was more like a tip tap or thump thump. It happened twice and that was all. I was talking to my mom on the and said "shhhh, I think I feel Laney". And I wanted to see if she would thump me again...not yet though. I'm patiently waiting to have little fist fights with her. Until then, I figured I'd make a list of the foods I enjoy and despise here lately with my pregnancy. And I feel it is a bit unfair the manner in which I am easily biased by my appetite.

Favs:
1. String Cheese
2. Apples
3. French Toast, Eggs, breakfast food of sorts
4. Candy, Candy, Candy...sour patch kids, Haribo Gummy Bears, Chocolate, anything with high amounts of sugar basically.
5. Hot sauce & Mexican (per the usual)

Not so much:

1. Chicken!!!!!!!
2. Coffee (used to be an addict)
3. Water (drinking but boring....)



After my food revelation, I realize I am beginning to pop out and see the baby growing.....

18 weeks at work with my friend Steph! We are due with in a couple of days of each other!!!!! Notice the addiction with the sour patch kids in my hand. I think I might need to make a trip to Sam's for a huge bag for us!

Over the weekend at the Salt Lick, we are going to be parents?!

Also, here are some pictures from over the Easter Weekend. Matthew and I had our big German surprise called a "Shivary". His family has been warning us about it since we got engaged. As I understand it, it is a German tradition for newlyweds when friends, neighbors, and family show up at an unforeseen time to bless the marriage and catch the couple off guard. Thus, I was sleeping on the couch and Matthew was playing trivial pursuit with the family when all of the sudden at about 8:30 pm we heard car horns, pots and pans, and Richard announcing " I think it's time for a Shivary!"EVERYONE was in on the surprise (my momma didn't even tell me!) and we were so shocked! I didn't expect it over Easter Weekend, especially since it was 30 degrees and we had to go sit outside and just laugh trying to struggle to hear each other through the mayhem. Still, it was hilarious and nice to see people.... although all I wanted to do was go back to that comfy spot on the couch.

Trivial pursuit at the Crowell's is a holiday tradition so we had no suspicions. Although, we felt like idiots five minutes later.....

L&M FREEZING! I was trying to use the pregnancy card for being out in the cold but that didn't work!
Sweet Julianna! I always tell her she should be mine with her dark hair and eyes but she is thrilled about another girl cousin!
Shopping for little girl dresses! They are so little and sweet!
I sure couldn't see the mischief in their eyes when we were at lunch but in a few hours time I did!
