Yellow

The happiest color to me and finally, after weeks of angst, I found the appropriate shade. Not too bright for a baby and not too pastel either. Tuesday night I, with the help of a precious co-worker, painted Laney's nursery. And I couldn't be more pleased with the choice! Although the name is a little crazy.... Jekyll Clubhouse Yellow.....it's like a little bit of sunshine with enough brightness but not too overwhelming to be neon lighting for the baby.

Here is a picture of the 8 shades of which I chose:

Me painting with my mask. And after the doctor telling me I didn't need one, thank goodness I had one! I would have gotten sick from the smell for sure! I thought this picture was funny because I'm still smiling but you can't tell!

What else? Little Lindsay came to see me last Thursday night and I meant to take a picture. And I got to have lunch with Stacy and Lindsay on Friday at my favorite place to eat hamburger's in Austin. Hut's. Mmmmm, I'm lucky it's this close to Whole Foods.

Oh and I'm 21 weeks and a few days in this picture below! Grow baby grow! And she is, I feel her moving in my belly all the time! Here are a few pics of Matthew and I at Kristen's brothers wedding ! I drove in Friday night to Abilene, then to Dallas Saturday evening, back to Abilene for Mother's Day (my first as a mom to be!), and back to Austin at 4:30 am Monday morning. You'd think I'd be more exhausted, not that I'm not, but I am pretty certain I'm getting used to this not sleeping thing. I suppose that's a way to get your body ready for the baby!
21 weeks picture, almost 22! I will update soon with one from the side!

We tried to take a picutre in front of the Dallas skyline with the sunset, probably what I miss the most from Dallas! Or Campisis :). Or my duplex....okay so I'm extra indecisive. Anyway, we are getting a new camera with my next bonus check and hopefully then our pictures will turn out!

Although, I am relatively on top of things with the nursery and having all the furniture ordered there is just so much I don't feel ready for yet. I have never been "that girl" that holds other peoples babies because I am just too akward with them. Or even knew you needed to burp them after they ate until a few weeks ago. I have changed diapers at the church nursery but that always makes me gag. So, I often wonder how will I adust to this new role as a mother and I just have to hope with the grace of God, with Matthew by my side, with the help of our family, and with a mother's intuition that kicks in. And even if I still don't know how to do all these things that a mother is called to do, I still can't wait to cast my eyes on Miss Laney.

That's all for now. We are heading to the ranch this weekend and I'm looking forward to the escape from the busy life that Fredericksburg and Llano always gives us.
