Happy (as a soon to be) Harcar!!!

This past Friday we spent the day with soon-to-be Mrs. Andy Harcar!

That's right, our my little baby sister, Lesley Berg is busy planning the happiest day of her life! I cannot wait to stand by her side.

Anyway, we had a fun filled day with places to go, dresses to try on, cake to eat, chapels to view, and babies to tend. That last part doesn't really fit but oh how the domination of the day was had by Miss Landry. Stinker. That dimple makes me melt every time under her little eye. Poor baby though, she threw up all.day.long.

My Angle of the day and Lesley's

The day began around 6:30 am. We woke up at my Aunt Susan's and my eyes were practically swollen shut from a previous days fotofacial! I looked like a chipmunk but got dressed and ready to tramp all over Forth Worth, TX.
We met up with Lesley and Susan (Andy's adorable Momma) and had coffee and breakfast at OddFellows Coffee in Oak Cliff. Prior to enhaling my coffee, my darling blue eyed child vommitted in the car all over her blue and purple striped dress (outfit 1 of 3). It was in the moment of pulling into the parking space before the day began that the affirmation of children and wedding planning absolutely do not go together.

Our first stop was at the Fort Worth Club where the reception will be held. I took tons of pictures. Wouldn't you know the card reader was in my car. Fitting.

Serious Negotiations by the Bride

Anyway, I went back for take two while Lel met with the wedding coordinator and tried to get some pictures. I came back to this; Laney pretending to be sweet and then chasing her sister down the hall. The lady in the building mentions "We never see children in here, what a nice surprise" when I know she must have been thinking "Children are not allowed up here and please leave." I cannot imagine why when I walked ran over to see Landry on her face..

Our next visit was trying cake and stuffing ourselves with sugar. You can't go wrong here. Well, you can spill water all over the chair and floor and break off decorative cake pieces but not too much harm can be committed. The white cake was the best I've tasted, the icing terrible. Sorry. I usually like buttercream. Lel will pick the best cake, she has the taste for it and sweets. But it was funnnn devouring this. Laney ate all of the chocolate.

And our visit wouldn't be complete without the true actions that followed our visits. At least it was just water and not red wine on a white dress.

Camera battery died here. Shocker.

Our third trip was to the Marty Leonard Chapel where Andy and Lesley will say their "I Do's!"
The lighting is amazing inside and I can't wait to see how their photographs turn out. It is quite stunning with a waterfall in the front. The picture below does not do justice but it is where Lesley and Andy chose and it is quite fitting to them as a couple.

Then, we got to go see the dress. The dress. A dress that the moment I saw a glimpse of the top in a picture, I thought of Lesley. It is perfect for her and I don't know too many that could pull this one off. I know I can't. I am so glad my baby sister is mine! I didn't ever tear up (I am the emotional one) until she put on the vail. I think for the first time in my life, I viewed Lesley as an adult or a grown up or something changed, she isn't little anymore. I won't get to be the one to look after her as much or boss her around. Sisters, the bond, no words.

Landry really wanted in to see the dress and kept crawling under the curtain. I had to take off the pic so you couldn't view the dress. And Laney looked on just eyes fixed on her aunt.

Sadly, we had to wrap up the day and get on the road to SA. We had a quick bite at Which Wich. I think the car rides that smelled like throw up and Landry had me feeling nauseated myself. Not to mention the garage sale we had the next morning and birthday party.

All in all, this was the most fun I have had planning a wedding since my very own! My Momma and Susan were too adorable, Lesley was giddy, Laney thinks the wedding is happening "tomorrow", Landry was such a trooper, and my face was on fire. It was a memorable day that I will cherish and remember with gut wrenching laughter, surprises of all kinds, and children to keep us on our toes and a change of clothes in the trunk. I look forward to more wedding planning sessions with Lesley in the five months ahead.

This is going to be such a joyous day and everything will be beautiful, especially the bride.
