Not Just Any Light Bulb

We had a moment yesterday, with a light bulb. A light bulb, huh? I know, right? But this was not your run of the mill light bulb. It was special; at least in reflection. Has anyone seen "The Brave Little Toaster?" Well, kind of like that but not really. I guess giving "life" to inanimate objects.

This little light burnt out after two years. It is displayed in our lamp that sits on our desk where it usually is turned off. Unless, I am working remote or paying bills, I like to have it on for extra light.

To the point, this was the very light bulb that spent many hours shedding light over Matthew’s studying for the Bar Exam. Saying goodbye for M was a little very nostalgic. After all, where would we be had it not been for this radiance? Truly, taking the bar is something I always just knew Matthew would pass. But several of his class mates did not the first go and I believe our life may have turned out differently had this test gone wrong.

It might be safe to say that Matthew would have failed the bar without this trusty companion. Most likely this is a false statement, however, the long hours that he spent all came tumbling back as we reminisced what it was like two short years ago. He was locked up in our study/guest room in Round Rock with a bunch of study guides, books, papers, the desk lamp, and this bulb. He studied away for at least a month straight. I think this might have been a sour time in our marriage. All I remember is trying to get Laney to sneak into the study and he would sweetly kick us out. Even his first born! I am glad to be where we are now.

Anyway, this light bulb served its purpose and had a nice little shiny time!

Thank goodness for the small stuff in life to think on!
