We were waiting for Daddy on the front porch here. He had gone to get breakfast at Panera. Both girls were crossing their arms.
Our arrival to Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. We took Matthew's vehicle and all crammed in the front seat.
Landry was quite interested in the animals and what they were doing.
Landry took an attempt at driving (and riding) the steering wheel!
Landry started to get sleepy. This trip was during her nap time but she was a trooper.
I could tell we were approaching the "fun" part of the zoo. Well, there were lots of animals and cars backed up. Here we go....
Laney liked the animals but it almost appeared normal for a zebra to be outside her window.
Until Matthew started to feed them....ummm...gingivitis?
And Landry wanted to pet the nice zebra!
The ostrich. So, there is a story here from my past. My parents took us to the same zoo when I was a little girl. And I was attacked by an ostrich. Well, attacked as in I tried to feed it and it tried to eat my arm. Well, maybe not entirely true but it sure seemed like it as a child. And when the ostrich started walking towards the truck, my side mind you, I almost had a panic attack. It all came back.
And I think I just threw food up in the air. I certainly didn't get too much in the animals mouth as it kept lurching for my hand. Panic. And I scared my children I know.
So we left the ostrich. Good times.
Then it came back! We had to roll up the window and it started attacking that. They scare me. Seriously serious.
Onto the llamas. Nicer mammals.
And Landry was so happy! She really did enjoy all the craziness in the car and probably not being constrained by a car seat.
Onto the petting zoo portion. We saved a bag of food for feeding the goats.
Laney fed the goats and was quite deliberate. She would talk to them, scold them, soothe them. She really loves animals.
This is Landry's look of annoyance. It is hysterical that she already has such a look!
Photo Shoot. I mean, seriously. Laney was like "take a picture of me feeding the baby goat" and proceeded to model for me. The baby just wanted to eat and she kept teasing him with the food in her hand.
What a happy memory.
Landry cheesed it up on the way home with her silly faces she will make and try to mock me. Adorable. I could eat her up!
My Laney and those eyes. Both my girls. What a fun, blessed day we had. One I will remember.
