Pow Wow at Howard

In anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday, Howard Elementary puts on a "Pow Wow" for the kids. And for the parents. The children had all rehearsed songs and danced, dressed up as Indians, and had lots of crafts and festivities to celebrate.

Laney Kate! The cutest tie dyed shirts and head bands the kids made. I helped with the head pieces one day volunteering. 18 children and paint and structure. It amazes me.

My little Golden Eagle. Laney picked her own Indian name. It's the little stuff, so sweet.

I pretty much just tagged along and tried to keep up with Laney. She kept running off and having fun. She's so grown up already, my six year old.

Leyton was quite the trooper and all the kids kept coming to see her. She would just smile. Best baby ever.

As the pow wow was wrapping up, Laney had a hard time with me leaving. She hadn't done this in a long while. It was sad and sweet. She cried and I had to beg her to get in the class picture. I kind of miss those days where she wants me. She's growing up too fast and I want to soak in every moment with my heart beat.

Ms. Vincent has been a wonderful teacher and I have really enjoyed being the home room momma.
