35.
Happy birthday it was. And not the fun filled mani pedi massage lunch I'm used to.
Instead, I went to work on IRS projects and taxes. But I work for the kindest, most generous man and received birthday money for "me time". Almost made me cry.
Then I went shopping with Jen, of course I did, at apricot lane and impeccable pig! So much fun and lots of new clothes.
I headed to get the girls after school and we went to the Pearl for a taste test of macaroons! We each had a bite and tried all the flavors and had dessert before dinner. Then happy hour and a quick dinner at CURED.
Then I topped it off with class and got home too late for cake with the girls. Bummer. But I found their cards and walked in the house smelling flowers. Star gazer lilies. The flower Matthew gets me every year. And I fell asleep watching Lord of the Rings. A happy, happy birthday.
I realize how blessed I am to be here in this life surrounded by love and having the chance to love others. I'll take another year even if getting older is just that.
