Three Months Old

Laney is 3 months old today! A quarter of a year old (I'm an accountant!) and changing a bit every day. It's still surreal being a mother and taking her all in. I have realized being a parent for me is like being a kid again. I look forward to things that I didn't know were possible to look forward to all because a little person is involved and changes them. And I don't enjoy things the way I used too if they permit her absence (thank goodness for jogging strollers!) and time is taken away from her. At least that is how I feel. But time hasn't stopped and I've found myself at the 3 month mark wondering what is to come in her future. And still eager for all the things we have to look forward too.

Laney recently started using her little voice box and making all cute little sounds at her friends on her mobile, the Christmas tree, or just conversing with me and M. And she is holding onto things, pulling blankets over her face, pulling her pacifier out, just becoming very hands on-ish. I love the baby phase and the innocence it possesses. I know it doesn't last long but I cherish this sweet time that I won't get back with her.
Kisses from Momma......
often turn into.....nursing on my face! It's been proven true to me... a Daddy is a Daughters first love... he can calm her down and is absolutely wonderful with Laney! And she adores him.

Finally...never wake a sleeping baby? That's right.....

Last night she was sleeping beautifully and, as irony would have it, M kind of moved her as she was stirring. Well, she woke up instantly mad at us; livid with in seconds. She never really fusses a whole lot, I think we got lucky on that and I'm sure next time we won't! Yet last night she was furious with us. I think she was cranky from having to go to daycare because she had to get up super early. But I had to take a picture of her screaming because it's a rarity we ever get to see her like this. The only way we have found to calm her down is bath time but I'm sure there will be other instances we have to be creative...ahh being a parent. Three months has changed everything. And I'm loving it!

If you need ideas for calming down a screaming baby, I'd be glad to help. That event is NOT a rarity at our house!
