Time in the Rockies

Colorado is one of my favorite places to go on vacation. Likely because we have gone almost every summer since I was in middle school. And we hadn't been able to go in a few summers as a family although M and I spent part of our honeymoon in Frisco. This cool & cozy & crisp place holds a lot of memories. And now for Laney too! She sure did love the mountains. My Momma's sister has a house in Frisco that sleeps five families and during ski season this place is always booked. Here are some pictures of Colorado and of the escapades we partook in:

It snowed before we left. Yup, in August. Coming back to the Texas heat was a transition for sure. Playing around in Breck. Feeding the chipmunks....Laney laughing at Landon...he got her the little bass pro shop outfit.
Sleeping with Jorja. She tries to say it now. Soon enough we will have a nick name for my Momma! Paintball. I have twelve or so bruises from Matthew and Landon. They nailed me and Lesley but it was awesome. We played with thirty people and it was madness. There were eight year old kids running around with paint ball guns! Seriously?!

Nice paint ball in the mask Landon!

Oh my husband....we shot at each other the most. This is probably one of the many reasons we were attracted to each other to begin with. We are both so fiercely competitive; even with one another. My favorite part of the day was when I was the "pilot" and had to make it to the red flag. Well, my team was supposed to protect me (and Lesley to throw them off!)and I made it to the flag but waiting for me was M and Landon. We all got shot at a lot. But Matthew and I both looked at each other and said at the same time "Are you okay?" Yup. And we marched back to opposing teams. The picture below just doesn't do justice.

And four wheeling in the mountains on ATV's.

"Pig Pen"ning it in Vail....we were nasty, dirty, gross. A lot of dominoes, food, laughing, and getting on each others nerves. It wasn't a relaxing vacation but it was a good one. I can't wait to go back to those baby blue skies next year.

Our last night at the Blue Spruce! Good bye CO! Until next year....
