Happy First Birthday Baby Girl! What a wonderful feeling I have today and feel blessed for sharing this life with you. I am so glad you are mine! Was it really a year ago that I saw your face for the very first time? You are still my heart beat and I love you more than anything! 
A year later you are such a big girl!
We had a perfect day together. We woke up and I sang happy birthday to you. You were mad it was so early but I was excited to have your birthday! All night I felt like it was the night before Christmas! Then we headed out to the Austin Children's Museum. You had a lot of fun with the other babies and seemed to be ahead of the curve on some things. You loved the slide and kept going down that. 
And when we played in the kitchen area you kept going for the fruit you knew. It was pretty cute and you thought it was funny.
I am just proud of you for being you. Even though you stole your first golf ball. I didn't notice until lunch; swears. 
We danced to happy feet at Austin Kiddie Limits and you took the stage. 
Then we went and had lunch in downtown Austin at Jo's. You had a watermelon fresca, grilled cheese, and a cup of fruit. And you still love to eat! You actually paid more attention to everyone else here than me but it was still fun. 
Then we went home to meet Daddy after class and got ready for your party on Saturday. And at 3:43 pm we sang happy birthday to you and got to eat the cake that I baked you Thursday night! You loved it and I tried to make it look like your favorite Lion. I am not a baker or a cook but I managed a home made cake with cream cheese icing. Pretty hilarious and I know, I look tired. It wore me out and took too long for my short attention span!

Happy Birthday, Laney! I love your cake and your birthday dress. I'm glad you had a fun day with your Momma. I'll be 1 in 2 months, and I don't think my Momma can make a cake like that!

This sounds like such a perfect 1st birthday--so sweet and meaningful. :) Little Laney is blessed to have you as her mom, for sure. I'm really impressed with the lion--seriously!!!
