While M was away....

...the girls played! And we did have a wonderful time with Daddy out of town. He went to Colorado for a boys trip and got away from the Texas heat. We made it through the days I was in Austin with some help and then had a very fun weekend.

Saturday morning we got up early for the NALEO 5k I was running with Courtney, the Montoya's, Janine, and Katie. I don't know where Katie was in this picture though! And I do know we were "hiding the beauty"--Courtney!

The race went really well. I miraculously got 1st place in my age group! I ran 7 1/2 min miles but was still pleased. I just didn't want the mayor to beat me since it was his race! And I'm finding my runners legs again after Landry. It has taken me a long time to get back to how I used to run. Everyone did really well and it is just so much fun running with friends, I'm really enjoying this summer and racing.

Meanwhile, the girls were with David Denton. Safe and Sound. We got them up around 6:30 am to have a play date with Miss Charlotte. When I walked in after the race I heard "MaMa, MaMa" and I could not see Landry. Well, she was under the coffee table.

We then got ready to head to JoAnn's Fabrics with Jessica M. I am planning on making several pillowcase dresses for the girl's this summer. This is one of the couple fabrics we picked out. I cannot wait to become a professional seamstress. Ha!

We saw Cars 2 after lunch. It was crowded and crazy but the girls enjoyed the show. I can't believe how well Landry did and Laney has always loved going to the movies!

We also enjoyed some time at the Alamo Heights Pool in the late afternoon. I am not psycho about sunscreen and my girls love it. Landry will bring me the bottle to put it on her in the morning. Too funny.

Also we had the best. sno cones. ever. And I am not a sno cone kind of girl. But, seriously, Snow Monkey on Fredericksburg road is delicious. I could go every single day! The Natural Coconut with shavings of coconut and condensed milk is refreshing and sweet! I usually get Laney rainbow or strawberry and Landry always gets something "clear" so wedding cake or coconut.

Sunday afternoon we had a shower for Suzanne, pictures to come as I almost burned the house down.

The make up below that Courtney made for Laney has been a huge success at our house! It is adorable.

The weekend wrapped up with Matthew getting home exhausted and the Crowell Crew getting ready to start the work week. And how I love the fun I get to have with just me and my girls. The time is just so sweet!
