We woke up on Saturday to get ready for another trip to Acadia National Park. After breakfast I took some pictures outside of the bed and breakfast. I really can't say enough about the Ullikana. Truly, perfectly, naturally lovely.
Let me tell you too that before our hiking trip, Matthew thought we were going to starve and bought a king size snickers and a few bottled waters because we were going to be gone on a two hour hike. I thought, oh we will be fine! However, we are the most unprepared hikers that I know. Never again. Next time I am packing a picnic lunch for the top of the mountain.
This is right up M's alley. I enjoyed doing something with him that he loves and I'm not so great at. I love the outdoors and the sights but I do get afraid of the height.
We found the best walking stick that I really wanted to bring home.
Near the top and the view was stunning. I probably took ten pictures of the same sight.
We made it! And the hike was great exercise!
Here we are at the tip top of Mount Acadia!
And how I love sailboats! I was glad we got to see one.
This is just one of the examples of the rocks we got to climb up and down. This was on the way down and there were several of these I had to force myself to brave. Matthew is a lot braver than I am in this arena.
A toad on the way down that jumped across our path.
We came across a little stream.
Then went to have one last view of the ocean and relaxation before we headed back to the car.
A sweet, little waterfall that we took a picture of for Laney. She always wants us to take her to go see a waterfall. So, naturally, we thought of her.
How terrified I was in this picture. If only. We were on these slippery rocks right on the ocean. I was so made at Matthew and just wanted to get back on land/the ground/off the rocks with my camera!
On our walk back to the car in the forest of Acadia.
Then we went to the Bass Head Light House after our hike and to Thurston's Lobster Pound.
Our last night in Bar Harbor. The trip was just what I needed and hoped to expect.
Funny story here. The Scottish Man was talking to a police officer. There was an incident with playing his bag pipes and somehow he ended up asking Matthew to be his attorney. I'm not really quite sure what he was doing wrong; possibility soliciting money but he was very nice and maybe one day we can move to Maine where Matthew can practice law. Maybe just in the summer though; I'm not certain how I'd do with the winters up north!
